What is JSU?
JSU, or JyväsSeudun Uinti Ry, is a swimming club founded in 2021 which focuses specifically on supporting and promoting the swimming hobby of adults and masters (over 25 years of age). In total, our club has over forty swimmers of different ages, from children learning the basics in private lessons, through adult fitness swimmers to swimmers competing at national championship level and masters Finnish and European championship levels, without forgetting our triathletes!
What kind of activities do we have?
For adult swimmers, we offer technique instruction in the Masters 1 group as well as private lessons at our club. Group training requires basic swimming skills, but everyone is welcome to our private lessons, regardless of age, skill level or goals.
JSU also organizes private lessons for children, from toddlers getting used to the water with their parents to teenagers reviewing what they have learned at school, and for everyone in between. At children's long private courses, young swimmers also have the opportunity to complete courses built according to the Finnish Swimming Federation's national Vesitaituri, Vesiralli and Tekniikkaralli courses.
Children's groups?
We don’t yet have our own children's groups, but in addition to children's private lessons, we work together with other sport and hobby clubs in Jyväskylä to support children's swimming skills and diverse exercise. If you have a hobby group, we can provide instructors for swimming lessons!
