JyväsSeudun Uinti Ry

Private courses

JyväsSeudun Uinti’s private course packages offer a cost-effective way to book private instruction for swimmers who anticipate needing multiple lessons. These private courses are held at Jyväskylä’s swimming facilities for both adults and children, regardless of skill level. For children, courses that follow the curriculum of the Finnish Swimming Federation’s Vesitaituri and Vesiralli programs are also available. The courses are tailored to individual needs and starting levels, and the lessons are taught by qualified instructors with extensive backgrounds in swimming instruction and competitive swimming. The courses can cover anything from the basics of swimming to specific stroke techniques or training for entrance exams including swimming and diving. Private course packages can also be purchased as gifts.

You can join the private courses by contacting jsu.yksityisopetus[at]gmail.com.

Time and place

Generally, JSU’s private courses take place at AaltoAlvari; sessions are available on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 2:00 PM onwards, subject to the swimming hall's opening hours and other reservations. By special arrangement, lessons can also be held at other times or at Wellamo in Vaajakoski.

The exact time for the sessions is agreed upon directly with the instructor. A specific time and day for the course sessions can be agreed upon right at the start, or the exact times can be arranged flexibly with the instructor—for instance, on a weekly basis.

Course duration and swimmers

JSU offers private courses consisting of five, seven, ten, or fifteen sessions. Standard session durations are 30, 45, or 60 minutes. The club offers 30-minute swimming lessons for children aged 3–6. Arrangements for courses of other durations and their pricing can be made with the instructor if necessary.

A maximum of two swimmers with approximately the same skill level may participate in the same private course. Larger groups can inquire with the club about swimming courses for communities.
