Masters 1

Masters 1 is a group for adults looking to refine their swimming techniques. Swimmers should already be familiar with basic strokes (freestyle, breaststroke, and backstroke; butterfly skills are not required), though a recreational swimming level is perfectly adequate for the group. If necessary, you can first strengthen your swimming fundamentals through private lessons before moving on to group sessions. Some members of the group joined after starting with recreational swimming and private lessons, while others have been swimming for a long time and even have competitive experience.

The group welcomes new swimmers who can manage a pace of at least 800 meters per hour and swim at least 100 meters without stopping. So, if you want to improve your swimming technique and learn turns and starts, Masters 1 could be the perfect recreational group for you! You can also choose to focus on specific swimming strokes if you wish.

Swimmers in the group have the option to participate in Masters competitions (for ages 25 and up), but you are also welcome to join simply for fitness swimming.

What happens during Masters 1 group training sessions?

Saturdays, 16:30–17:30: Guided technique instruction for various swimming strokes.

Sundays, 14:00–15:00: Independent swimming session with an instructor present to observe technique and offer tips.

The group trains together while focusing on individual needs and the swimmers' own preferences. Sessions may include activities such as video analysis of one's technique or exercises to improve body control in the water. You can attend once or twice a week, or simply whenever it fits your schedule.

You can join the group by contacting jyvasseudunuintiry[at]gmail.com or by coming to check out the group's training sessions. It is also possible to join mid-season.
