Children's private Vesitaituri and Vesiralli courses
At JSU, children can participate in both private lessons and courses. Additionally, private courses modelled after the Finnish Swimming Federation’s Vesitaituri and Vesiralli programs are available for children aged 3–12. These courses follow the structure of the Federation’s national swimming school curriculum while accommodating individual needs, making it easy to compare them with other swimming programs the child may have attended. The course fee for Vesiralli participants includes a swimming school booklet and a diploma, while the fee for Vesitaituri courses (held in the children's pool) also includes a sticker corresponding to the specific swimming level achieved.
You can join the courses by contacting jsu.yksityisopetus[at]gmail.com.
Time and place
JSU’s Vesitaituri and Vesiralli courses are primarily held at AaltoAlvari; sessions are available on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 2:00 PM onwards, subject to the swimming hall's opening hours and other reservations. By special arrangement, the courses can also take place at other times or at the Wellamo in Vaajakoski.
The exact timing of the sessions is agreed upon directly with the instructor. You can schedule a specific day and time for the course sessions right from the start, or arrange the timing flexibly with the instructor, for instance, on a week-by-week basis.
Course duration and swimmers
Vesitaituri and Vesiralli courses consist of ten sessions. Sessions for Vesitaituri participants (aged approximately 3–7: Kirput, Kilpparit, and Myyrät) last 30 minutes and are held in the children's pool. Vesiralli participants (aged approximately 7–12: Sammakot, Kalat, Norpat, and Delfiinit), swim for 45 minutes per session in the deeper pools.
A maximum of two swimmers with roughly the same skill level may participate in the same private course. Larger groups can inquire with the club about swimming courses for groups.

Invoicing
Course fees are invoiced in full after the first trial session. The swimming sessions included in the purchased course may be used within six months of the first swim or the purchase of the gift voucher.
The course instructor sends the invoice via email. To send the invoice, the instructor requires the email and postal addresses of the person paying for the course. This information is used solely for sending the invoice.
Cancellations
A private course may be cancelled within 24 hours of the first scheduled session by contacting the instructor in writing; in this case, the swimmer is billed only for the first session based on the single-lesson price list. Courses may be cancelled free of charge up to 24 hours before the first scheduled session.
Courses purchased as gifts are non-refundable, even if the recipient does not use the course.
An individual session may be cancelled by contacting the instructor in writing at least 24 hours in advance. The instructor reserves the right to consider a session cancelled later than this as having been used.
Sessions that are not cancelled are considered used, and an additional fee of 5.50 € is charged for them.
