Private lessons
JyväsSeudun Uinti organizes private swimming lessons for both adults and children at swimming pools in Jyväskylä. No prior swimming skills are required; the lessons range from foundational skills and beginner-level guidance to advanced technique training, regardless of age. Lessons can also, for example, be tailored to prepare for specific entrance exams involving swimming and diving tasks. The content of the lessons is planned according to individual needs and skill levels, and they are taught by trained instructors with years of experience in swimming instruction and competitive swimming.

Time and place
Generally, JSU’s private lessons take place at AaltoAlvari; sessions are available on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 2:00 PM onwards, subject to the swimming hall's opening hours and other reservations. By special arrangement, lessons can also be held at other times or at Wellamo in Vaajakoski.
The exact time for the lessons is agreed upon directly with the instructor. When booking multiple sessions, you can either schedule them for a specific recurring time or arrange the swims for example on a week-by-week basis.
Duration of sessions and swimmers
JSU offers private swimming lessons in 30-, 45-, and 60-minute sessions, though longer sessions can also be arranged upon request. For children aged 3–6, the club offers 30-minute lessons.
Up to two swimmers with approximately the same skill level may participate in the same private lesson. Larger groups can inquire with the club about community swimming lessons.
Price list
30 min: 15 euros / swimmer
45 min: 22,5 euros / swimmer
60 min: 30 euros / swimmer
The prices include instruction and the instructor's admission fee to AaltoAlvari. The swimmer's admission fee is paid at the swimming hall's ticket counter in accordance with the price list of the city sport services.
The instructor's admission fee is added to the price of classes held at Wellamo.
Invoicing
Private lessons are invoiced at the end of the month based on the hours actually held. The instructor sends the invoice via email.
To send the invoice, the instructor requires the swimmer’s or payer’s email and postal address. This information is used solely for sending the invoice.
Cancellations
A scheduled swimming lesson may be cancelled by contacting the instructor directly in writing at least 24 hours before the scheduled time; in such cases, no fee is charged. The instructor may charge for a lesson cancelled later than this in accordance with the price list for individual lessons.
For lessons that are not cancelled, the price for individual lessons is charged, plus an additional fee of 5.50 €.
